I'd be remiss if we did not did not recognize the fine results of our other partners in the Development League. I previously mentioned that our friends from Humber College had a clean sweep of all three events at their Ontario College Championships in February. As a result, two of the teams and some of the members of the winning mixed team as alternates are headed to the Canadian College Finals in Camrose, Alberta over the same period as the USports Finals in Thunder Bay. How exciting for the Hawks!
At the last scheduled Development League game this past Thursday, the men and the women along with coach Cindy Bishop brought their banners to the Toronto Cricket Skating and Curling Club for some on ice picture taking, something we can leave with the club as a thanks for their part in on our collective success. Seeing the banners makes you a little envious and fuels that desire to get on to the next competition to see if one of us can bring one of those home to hang in the rafters from the Nationals.
We should also acknowledge the efforts of Team Fayaz and Coach Mark Inglis who will be one of the eight teams at this year's U18 Provincials in Hamilton with a chance to move on to the first ever U18 Nationals in Moncton. Couples with their success winning this year's TCA U18 Championships against a very strong field, prospects look good for these young men.
