Months in the planning and much longer in conception, the Rams Development Curling launches this week with a full roster of permanent and visiting teams ready to play at the Toronto Cricket, Skating and Curling Club.
Conceived to focus on athletes under the age of 25 with aspirations for national championships, the league does cater to a broader upper age range of athlete respecting the nature of the University and College based teams that the league caters to. We are excited as well to invite the next generation of post-secondary athletes from the new U18 category broadening out are age range at the bottom end.
To accommodate the requests of the teams, our first two weeks of competition will start at 7:30PM with an on-ice time of 8:00PM.
On September 29, our first development guest speaker will be Joe Corrado, a curler himself and parent of two competitive women's curlers, Joe's business interest and involvement in curling often intersect around his passion for sport and wellness.
He will give a fifteen minute presentation about proper hydration and the use of approved supplements as a curling athlete.
